Stainless Steel Polishing Facilities
Master Engineering’s commitment to superior quality standards (link to quality page) and service to its clients is further demonstrated by the company’s investment in its Farros Blatter Automatic stainless steel grinding & polishing System, incorporating a 12-ton rotation system.
Through the use of this state-of-the-art stainless-steel polishing system Master Engineering Ltd. can provide its clients with an even greater range of polished surface finishes in excess of 0.1 μmRa.
Higher specification polishing is also provided where required on Projects. Electro-polishing stainless steel is a “reverse plating” process that uses an electrochemical solution to remove the outer skin of a metal part. This process significantly, especially 300 and 400 series stainless steel, improves a part’s corrosion resistance, leaving it with a lasting bright finish.
The polishing system allows for the majority of fabrication to be completed prior to the polishing of the vessel, thus eliminating the need to re-work polished surfaces due to imperfections introduced during fabrication processes. This ensures a high quality & consistent polished surface. The surface finish is measured using our Mitutoyo Surftest SJ-20 surface gauge.
All works completed will be supplied with a certificate of surface finish if required as part of our documentation handover package (link).
